
Chris Gash’s weekly illos for the Business and Science sections of the NY Times challenge him to keep it fresh, for both the reader and himself, on a regular basis. For On the Road last week Chris incorporated a photo to illustrate how business travelers are hassled to keep receipts for everything in the face of impending IRS audits in 2010.

The Observatory in Science Times reported the discovery of starch traces on 5000-year-old tools found in Mozambique, suggesting grain processing was happening much earlier than previously thought. “The caveman clubbing his bride-to-be is one of those images forever stuck in my head, and finally it had somewhere to go.”
