December 7, 2009

Mark Brewer recently contributed his artwork, "The Bessemer Converted," to the Andy Warhol Museum's permanent collection, as part of an invitation-only exhibition: Drawn to the Summit: A G-20 Exhibition of International Political Cartoons.”

Mark Brewer: G-20 Image

Delegates, protesters and journalists invaded Pittsburgh in September for the Pittsburgh G-20 summit. The cartoons in “Drawn to the Summit” highlighted the work of the leading cartoonists from the G-20 nations and provided an alternative perspective on G-20 themes such as the global economy and its impact on the environment, human rights, world trade, etc. This exhibition offered a diversity of cartooning styles from around the world and highlighted the important role editorial cartoons play in this global conversation.
