Tom Richmond illustrated an astounding app for the iPhone, for which he has so far created 543 caricatures of the ever-changing members of the US Congress. Bobble Rep received the best possible launch when it was initially rejected by Apple as being “objectionable,” provoking a firestorm of protest.

Ironically, Bobble Rep has since gone on to become one of the most highly recommended EDUCATIONAL apps available.  The concept is a database of all the members of the United States Congress which allows the user to find the names and contact information of their senators and congressional representative.

Tom created the caricature “heads” which can then be placed on one of 12 different bodies he had drawn to make a cartoon, virtual “bobblehead” for each member of congress’s page. You can make the heads bobble by shaking your phone or flicking the head with your finger.  That’s what we call Democracy in Action!!
