3x3 Magazine will hold its first annual Nut & Bolts Conference on July 9-10th in New York.

Publisher Charles Hively explains, "I've been wanting to do something like this for sometime as I feel young illustrators coming out of school aren't getting off on the right foot. Schools concentrate so much on creating a personal vision that there's just not enough time left to talk about the basics of running an illustration practice. I've invited top New York illustrators who haven't been out of school all that long themselves to speak to our attendees about their experiences which will hopefully help graduates make that transition from classroom to the real-world a smoother one."
