Chris Beatrice created this wraparound cover and interior black and white illustrations for Hyperion's upcoming "Murder Afloat," due out in October.  The story, set on a 19th century oystering vessel, centers on a wealthy boy who unwittingly finds himself conscripted to a harsh life at sea.

Extensive research was carried out in order to insure the historical authenticity of the artwork.
