Marc Phares contributed artwork to Postcards from the Edge, an exhibition and sale to benefit AIDS research which took place over the weekend at CRG Gallery, NYC. His digital image represents HIV viruses budding along a cell surface after replicating inside the cell.

"Usually, my medical illustration and animation work requires high detail and scientific accuracy," said Marc. "It's always fun to be able to break away from that a bit and push the reality around. This is one of a series of images that I've been exploring in my personal work. Actual viruses and cells are really without color and lend themselves to personal color palettes and interpretation."
