
Marc Phares was contacted by The New York Times earlier this month to illustrate the Sunday Business cover for an article about the World Bank opening its vast database online for easier access.

When Marc noted the circular design of most bank vaults during research, the solution to make the World Bank globe icon the door's design appeared immediately. The art director agreed that it should appear to be an old brass style bank vault to represent the disappearing old-school way of sharing data.
