Jurgen Mantzke was commissioned by Seattle Magazine to illustrate an article about shared doctor’s appointments. A new trend is emerging in which patients can spend a full 90 minutes with their personal physician, as long as they do it as part of a group.

“The article listed the benefits, both for health and community, from the trend,” explains Jurgen. “I looked at several metaphors for the subject, and eventually settled on the idea of a doctor with a loop of paper dolls. Hearts emphasize what is important about the paper dolls to the doctor, and his body language shows he is engaged with all of them.”
