BRUCIE ROSCH: A FLOUNDER FOR THE SOUNDERS
January 25, 2012

Brucie Rosch created this illustration for a story in Seattle Magazine on that city’s ongoing struggles (and long delay) in choosing a mascot for the Sounders soccer team.

“In addition to a flounder, the writer proposed a Viaduct, a Geoduck, the “Squatch” and the Seattle sound itself,” Brucie says. “I think the Geoduck is also called a Gooeyduck: it’s edible, a kind of snail, and it’s pretty phallic… I was NOT asked to draw a Geoduck for this!”
