Pete Ryan created this image for Canadian Wildlife, illustrating a piece about the massive amount of carbon and methane coming up out of the ocean and into the atmosphere, accelerating global warming.

“After reading the article, it seemed a bit like the ocean was fighting back; it had had enough of our BS, and was doing something to retaliate,” says Pete. “That got me thinking of Poseidon, the ruler of the seas, and what power he had. Naturally this turned into his trident doubling as smoke stacks - belching toxins into the air.”
