TOM RICHMOND: HONEY BOO BOO’S FAMILY CIRCUS

Tom Richmond’s latest illustrative challenge for MAD Magazine is a mash-up of the super-wholesome classic comic strip, “Family Circus” and the wildly dysfunctional reality show, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.”

“This was the first time MAD has asked me to do a feature that called for a complete duplication of another style,” says Tom. “This was a bit more challenging, because I had to both ape the Keane (Family Circus) style, but also attempt to draw caricatures of the Thompson family within that style.”
