JOHN TOMAC ILLUSTRATION: TEN YEARS AFTER

John Tomac’s recent illustration assignments have dealt with the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. For Grantland, a piece about the “The Green Wave, Tulane University’s football team, which had high hopes heading into the 2005 season, but before their first game found themselves dealing with a lot more than sports:

For New Orleans Magazine, John illustrated a tale of the state university system using the storm as an excuse to shutter the city’s oldest public hospital. The Army Corp of Engineers had Charity hospital ready to re-open weeks after the storm, but LSU barricaded the building then deliberately flooded the upper floors.
