Marty Braun had an enjoyably spooky time being involved in the launch of "Mercy, The Last New England Vampire," a Young Adult novel by Sarah Thomson. The book launch was planned by Curious City (Portland, ME) who commissioned Marty to design a temporary tattoo, a flaming heart, as a take-away promotional piece. (more)
Marty Braun’s artwork for Vacationland, a summer ale produced by Gritty McDuff Brewing in Portland, ME, is starting to show up on the shelves of local stores there. “I've been doing new art to freshen up their entire line, and this is the latest,” explains Marty. Marty Braun has just completed another terrific poster image for Portland Stage (Portland, ME). “The Center of Gravity,” is historical fiction, a whimsical look at the Wright Brothers and how things might have gone. The Wright brothers never married in real life. But suppose there was a woman, and that they could never quite figure out the problems with their flyer, and well, just the fact that they were brothers. (more)
Marty Braun created a feature piece for Bates, the magazine of Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, to illustrate an article titled "Good Eggs." The story describes the on-going work Bates students have been doing with the migrant labor community at an egg "factory" in a nearby town. (more)
Marty Braun just finished art for an announcement for Maine Mead Works (Portland, ME). They are moving into a larger space, in the old Nissen Bakery, an imposing building, and they wanted a graphic, industrial feel for their announcement, in keeping with the character of the new space. (more)
