John S. Dykes received his B.F.A. in Illustration at Syracuse University, and his M.F.A. from the University of Hartford in July 2013.

Honors and recognition include: The Society of Illustrators, The Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles (gold and silver medals), Communication Arts, 3X3 Pro Show Illustration Annual, American Illustration, AltPick Awards, Print Magazine, How’s International Design Competition, Step By Step Graphics, Folio Show (silver award), R.S.V.P. Portrait Show.

John is a member of the Society of Illustrators. He has exhibited at the Norman Rockwell Museum, in Stockbridge, MA (The Artist and the Baseball Card), and in group shows and galleries around the country. John's work has appeared in many international publications in Japan, South America, and Europe. His work is part of the permanent collection in the New Britain Museum of American Art, in New Britain, CT. John is teaching an illustration concepts course at RISD in the fall of 2018. close
