DOUGLAS B JONES: CARTOLINA IPHONE APP

Three years ago Douglas B. Jones and his wife / creative partner, designer Fiona Richards, created cartolina.com.  They now design, illustrate and distribute greeting cards in five countries and are thrilled to add an iPhone App to the mix as of today.

“Traditional 'e-card' type greetings  arrive in the recipient's inbox as a link that takes you to a cheesy website,” explains Doug. “We wanted to offer a more sophisticated, elegant visual greeting that arrives fully formed - like a beautiful, dimensional gift in your e-mail inbox or via text.”

“There has been a lot of talk in the illustration business in the past few years about declining editorial work, lower budgets etc, and an emerging trend that creatives are 'self generating' projects of all kinds. It seemed like an exciting trend, and this thinking played a big part in the formation of Cartolina. It feels great to be the client as well as the creative!”
