Kevin Sprouls produced this oversized, highly detailed “hedcut” portrait of Charles Darwin on behalf of Dow Jones & Co. They were planning a promotional campaign that would run in their newspaper, the Wall Street Journal.

The ad appeared in various sizes, and ran for several months. Kevin negotiated a credit line as part of his fee, which turned out to be a highly evolved marketing campaign in and of itself!
