JON REINFURT: BEAUTIFUL DIFFERENCES

Jon Reinfurt’s illustration for the current issue of Teaching Tolerance Magazine accompanied an article about diversity and, more specifically, the idea of getting students to talk constructively about differences.
Since the main theme of the article was about how strong and beautiful the discussion can be, Jon chose to depict the conversation as a huge brightly colored butterfly.
“I also used the weeds at the bottom of the composition to imply the potential negativity and misinformed viewpoints that can develop around the topic of diversity if not treated with the proper respect,” explains Jon.
