JAMES YAMASAKI ILLUSTRATION: ARSON DOGS TO THE RESCUE

April 17, 2017

James Yamasaki illustrated the cover and featured story for Risk Management magazine’s article on detective dogs, all Labrador Retrievers, which are specially trained to find 61 different fire accelerants.

The dogs need an average of 30 minutes to investigate a fire scene, instead hours or days as humans do.  Canines are 100,000 times more acute than humans in detecting the smell of accelerants.  Plus, they’re cuter and furrier than your average arson investigator!
