KEVIN SPROULS ILLUSTRATION: DRAWING DOLLARS

Kevin Sprouls’ uncanny illustrative engraving skills have earned him a number of currency-related commissions. Here’s Kevin’s Andrew Jackson, in his old-school $20 bill format, used in a print ad for a retail chain:

The Luxor Casino in Vegas needed a super-graphic of that mysterious eye from the one dollar bill, to drape from the top of the casino building. After completing the drawing (always by hand), Kevin converted it to a vector file, giving it a smooth graphic look:

Time Magazine hired him to do a cover illustration for a story about Arab oil and its relationship with the American economy:

Currency illustrations with the substitute portraits include this one of Tiger Woods created for Sports Illustrated:

A monetary cameo illustration of the great Stephen Colbert, which was applied (somehow) to Stephen’s arm, as a tattoo, for the cover of GQ Magazine:
