RANDY GLASS ILLUSTRATION: SAINT JOHN PAUL II

Randy Glass was commissioned to create a pen & ink portrait for the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center in Washington DC, in honor of a newly constructed permanent exhibit called "The Gift of Love: the Life of Saint John Paul II." The day of John Paul II’s canonization by Pope Francis, the building was renamed The Saint John Paul II National Shrine.
The quietly dignified portrait is used on a variety of the Shrine’s print materials – including their official stationery, note cards and press releases. "I guess it’s quite possible that the drawing is featured on shopping bags in the gift shop, too," muses Randy.
