JOHN TOMAC'S SUBWAY SERIES FOR THE MTA

Play Ball! John Tomac's "Subway Series" subway art card illustration for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority makes its debut on opening day of the 2023 Baseball Season. Look for it in all boroughs throughout the New York subway system starting March 30th.

"In this scene the elevated train, which you can find outside the ballparks in Flushing, the South Bronx and Coney Island serves as the outfield fence," John explains. "Beyond the train are landmarks from all three places–the World's Fair observation towers in Queens, Bronx County Court House and the Coney Island Parachute Jump in Brooklyn. In the foreground are players in the field with number and letter logos from various train lines on their uniforms. And everywhere, cheering fans!"
