JEANINE MURCH'S MURAL FOR PITTSBURGH

October 6, 2023

Jeanine Murch was commissioned to create a 4-foot x 6-foot piece of wall art featuring the beautiful city of Pittsburgh, for the newly redesigned visitation rooms in multiple county buildings throughout the Southwestern Pennsylvania region. This is where children and their families meet for supervised visits during difficult periods of separation, so the client wanted bright and cheerful artwork.

The colorful Pittsburgh cityscape includes fun “hidden” iconic imagery throughout—like a Heinz Ketchup bottle, a Primanti’s sandwich, and a pickle. 3 additional variations were also created; one with 5 hidden Mr. Rogers, one with 5 hidden Kennywood signs, and one with 5 hidden “Frankie the Cat” — a beloved pet of one of CYF employees who many of the the kids at the facility know and love.
