DAVIDE BONAZZI ILLUSTRATES JOKER PHILOSOPHY

Davide Bonazzi's illustration series for Italian magazine Internazionale accompanied an essay by the philosopher Slavoj Zizek, about the film "Joker." He explains why immersion in this dark world can actually cure us of politically correct illusions and simplifications, among other things.
Zizek also describes the Joker's behavior from a psychoanalytic point of view, explaining why Joker couldn't be a symbol of political protest in the real world. The character's violence has no political intent; rather, he's just an explosion of negativity for its own sake.
