JAMES FRYER COVERS DEEP IMPACT

James Fryer's hard-hitting cover and inside illustrations for MEED Business Review magazine accompany a feature on the deep impact of Covid-19 on the Middle East. "I had to come up with ideas that showed the legal ramifications of Covid-19," says James, "The breaking of contracts and the explosive impact of the virus on the region." The editor selected the coronavirus crater from James' extensive sketches as the perfect cover metaphor, touching on the economic, financial and business: an armageddon that brings one era to an end, and marks the start of something new.

 

The editors were so inspired by the concepts James presented, he was asked to work up another sketch to illustrate the "corona hole in the coin" idea for the inside of the magazine too. Scroll down to see the full set of thumbnails that communicated so well.
