PATRICK GEORGE'S PEEK-THROUGH A-Z BOOK OF ANIMALS

Patrick George designed and illustrated a new book titled Eye Spy AnimalZ. Eye Spy AnimalZ, a project that’s been a year in the making, is an A-Z of animals which are discovered through die-cuts (holes in the paper). Patrick wanted to create an interactive experience for the child, where they get a surprise by simply turning the page, to reveal something unexpected.

Patrick explains that designing a book with holes on every page was definitely a challenge, like designing a book and doing a Rubik’s cube simultaneously. It took a lot of time working with the printer to ensure the alignment and quality of the die-cuts were as neat as possible, but his efforts clearly paid off!
