URS J. KNOBEL FOR GALLERY ASIA

Urs J. Knobel's dreamlike series of watercolors are impressions of his pre-pandemic trip to Southeast Asia. The sketches were created in 2018; the watercolors are only now being fully realized in the studio. First we see Sak Yant Tattoo, a widespread, sacred form of body art whose purpose is to ignite psychic and magical powers and thus bestow strength, protection, wealth or good luck on the wearer.
