STEVEN NOBLE FOR WILD CITY SPIRITS

Steven Noble collaborated with Wild City Spirits to create illustrations for their new 2022 launch, that brings the botanical harvest of the city farmer to the gin still. The company's approach to sustainability extends beyond their own carbon footprint and into the emerging world of socially responsible urban agriculture. They source their botanicals from city-gardens and urban farms, with the end result being a pure, martini-grade gin, sprung from the urban landscape.
The main character or visual motif is Leda. The original was drawn from a 1911 Carnegie Hall playbill and was likely based on the dancer Isadora Duncan. Steve created the image in a scratchboard woodcut style, along with a cityscape that includes various buildings and landmarks, without it being associated with any specific place.
