TIM O'BRIEN'S SUPERFAST COVER FOR TIME

Tim O'Brien pulled an old-school all-nighter on a cliff-hanging TIME Magazine cover this week. "On Monday I was asked to work on a rush TIME cover as Elon Musk was about to buy Twitter. The green light was the approval of the sale by the board, but I was working on sketches and revisions while that percolated." says Tim. "It is a simple cover, but photo reference selection is crucial to the way the viewer sees the image. A broad smile can be smug. A wry look can mean something else. A crazy face can look too comic and tell the viewer how to feel. I like letting the viewer decide a little bit. Elon is a lot. Part genius, part maniac, not elegant, maybe fun, but certainly odd..."
