JULIA KERSCHBAUMER'S LATEST LABELS FOR WINE52

Julia Kerschbaumer shares a recent wine label illustration project, commissioned by the exclusive subscription service, Wine52. For "Rreqebulli," a Pinot Noir from Northern Macedonia, Julia rendered the face of their national animal, the Balkan Lynx (Rreqebulli), comprised of plants, seeds, fruits and leaves native to the country, such as walnuts, acorns, figs, juniper berries, beechnuts and pines.

 

For a white wine from North Macedonia, "Tambura" Pinot Grigio, Julia produced a semi-abstract depiction of the traditional North Macedonian folk music with their traditional music instruments, such as a Zurna (Clarinet), tapan (drum), tambura (guitar/sitar) and accordion. The fragmentation and displacement of the forms make an elated appearance, similar to the music with its fast and unusual rhythms.
