J-F PODEVIN PONDERS, "TO BE OR NOT TO BE... AI?"

Jean Francois Podevin ponders the mysteries of the newest, most controversial of art forms, Artificial Intelligence, through two new illustrations, both available to license in his Stock Collection. The first concept is of an AI droid resembling Hamlet asking “itself” the famous question. The second is of an AI Adam-like cyborg contemplating the Apple of Knowledge. The apple symbolizes all the world’s cultures and artistic expressions, which have now become the database for the Gargantuan memory which feeds AI. .

"With these two images, I illustrate the potential for AI to become sentient and to benefit humanity, versus the potential impact that it could have upon us, through whomever uses it or whomever controls it," says J-F. "Since nothing in life happens as we expect it, or as we fear it, our near future experience with AI will likely end up being a different story altogether, a positive one I hope, maybe just another 'Y2K' panic. May these two images  generate such positive and hopeful answers."
