CATHY HULL IS SEEING RED

Cathy Hull notes that the GOP has no effective strategy to deal with internal opposition from the fringes of its party. The extreme right ultra conservative wing has declared war on democracy, the Democratic Party, and moderate members of its own organization. After a humiliating historic five-day 15 ballot protracted vitriolic battle and countless concessions made to secure the post, Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) was finally elected by the House as the nation’s 55th speaker. A Faustian Bargain: Hard-line Republicans were encouraged, enabled, egged and cheered on; these same MAGA Republicans now hold Kevin and the party hostage.
